February 2018 Wines of the Month

Our February Wine of the Month Club selections are from Pierano.

Peirano “Illusion” Red 2016

Tasting Notes:

The wine exhibits a rich deep burgundy hue with a perfect clarity. The aromas are a compendium of opulent chocolate and cocoa, with black currants and plums. The palate explodes with rich mouthfilling blackberries, black currants, plums and dark fruit. The long, seductive finish is filled with hints of black licorice and has firm, round, yet supple mouthfilling tannins.

GOLD MEDAL – CALIFORNIA STATE FAIR

Peirano Chardonnay 2014

Tasting Notes:

The vibrant color of this wine immediately catches your attention. The aromas of fresh picked white peaches, ripe melon, and yellow apples instantly fill your senses and are complemented by hints of light vanilla that entices that first sip. The mouth fills with complex flavors of sweet, rich, red and yellow apples, bosch pears, fresh picked peaches and juicy sweet honeydew melons, leaving you breathless. Soft hints of butter and vanilla round out the wine to produce a very seductive, lingering finish.

Come in and taste them Friday afternoon!

Wine Tasting October 27

Join us this afternoon at 4:30 for our regular Friday tasting. We’ll be sipping two wines from 90+ Cellars: a Sauvignon Blanc and a Red Blend.

90+ got its start in the spring of 2009. Armed with a copy of the latest Wine Spectator, founder Kevin Mehra set out on a mission to bring higher quality wine to the market for a better price. He started calling wineries with a history of high ratings to ask if they had extra wine for sale. Some told him to get lost, but in the end, he found a handful of wineries that liked his concept. The plan was simple: put their wine in bottle, and sell it for less.
